MOWERSVILLE SHED FIRE
MAY 20 - Units were alerted to 7796 Mowersville Road in Lurgan Twp for a possible shed fire Box 251-01. Fisrt units to arrive found it to be a control burn, all units were placed available.

HOUSE FIRE IN PRESIDENTIAL HEIGHTS
MAY 17 - At 1156 hrs units were dispatched to 2959 Jefferson Drive in Greene Twp for an odor of something burning inside Box 44-03. Amb.1-7 (CFD) arrived to find a smoke condition inside the residence, Engine 15-2 (WEFR) positioned side 1 and advanced an 1 3/4" pre-connect to the interior Engine 11-2 layed 600' of 5" supply hose from Jackson Dr to Engine 15-2. After investigating further crews found a small fire burning in the attic were it was contained. Engine 11-1 was released shortly after arriving on scene and Engine  11-2 cleared at 1356 hrs.

MOBILE HOME FIRE
MAY 11 - At 1820 hrs. units were dispatched to 7500 Molly Pitcher Highway North Lot 62 for a mobile home fire Box 15-1. First arriving units had fire showing from the front of the mobile home and advised all occupants had been evacuated, crews had the fire kncoked down within 5 minutes and contained to the kitchen area all units were held for approximately 45 minutes for overhaul operations.

DISASTER DRILL
MAY 10 - On Saturday morning PHVFC was one of many departments that participated in two Franklin County wide disaster drills which focused on Weapons of Mass Destruction: The first one was held in Quincy Twp on Tomstown Rd, the second was held at 5155 Innovation Way in Greene Twp. Pictured below is Engine 11-2 operating on the Innovation Way incident that involved a vehicle fire w/ explosion and a partial building collapse w/ people trapped. All departments & agencies involved worked very well together.

1979 MACK RESCUE PUMPER SOLD
MAY 9 - CONGRADULATIONS! to the Waterboro Fire Dept in Waterboro Maine who recently purchased our 1979 Mack CF Rescue Pumper for $38,900.00. When complete this unit will be painted black over red and will serve as Squad 1 in their area. Pictured below is our 2003 KME (left) & 1979 Mack CF (right).

HELPING HAND
MAY 7 - PHVFC assists Adams Electric Cooperative Inc. crews with lighting from Engine 11-2 while they replace a transformer on a utility pole along Cumberland Highway in Pleasant Hall.

APARTMENT FIRE
MAY 7 - At 1745 hrs. units were alerted to 111 Meadow Drive in Southampton Twp. for a possible apartment fire Box 15-1. Assistant Chief 15 arrived with smoke showing from side 1 of the apartment building, Engine 15-1 arrived crew advanced a pre-connect into the aprtment fire was knocked down within 2-3 minutes and contained to the kitchen area the box was held to Co.15, E152 & Truck 53 for overhaul, Engine 11-2 diverted to Co.15 for stand-by remainder was placed available.

LONG WAY FROM HOME
MAY 2 - PHVFC members man Engine 11-1 to cover for Mont Alto Engine Company 5 from 1600-2300 hrs. while they participated in the Apple Blossum Parade in Virginia Friday evening. Engine 11-1 pictured next to Engine-Tanker 5 ( nicknamed "SHAMU").

BUILDING FIRE AT APPLEGATE INSULATION
APR.30 - Units were dispatched just before 11:00 am to Applegate Insulation at 1050 Superior Ave in Greene Twp for a reported building fire Box 44-13. First arriving unit had heavy smoke coming from 2 hoppers located on the roof, crews advanced 1 3/4"  pre-connect lines to the interior. The fire was found to be contained to both hoppers, all units were held for approximately 2 hrs. for overhaul operations & smoke removal.

1 INJURED IN SINGLE CAR MVA
APR.27 - Shortly after midnight a female driver was injured when her car left the roadway and struck several small trees on Cumberland Hwy just south of the Oakdale Rd intersection, the engine crew arrived and secured all hazards and assisted EMS with patient care. Engine 11-2 cleard the scene at 0040 hrs.

1st DUE BARN FIRE
APR.25 - Shortly bfore 2300 hrs units were dispatched to the 3000 blk of Rotz Road in Letterkenny Twp for a barn fire Box 11-01. Units arrived to find the barn fully involved with the only exposure being a silo which sustained some damage, a water supply was established at a creek approximately 1/4 mile from the scene. Crews used 2 portable deluge guns & 2 pre-connected handlines which were supplied by Engine 11-2 during overhaul operations. The last units cleard the scene at 0220 hrs.
